Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. – The Ichabods win a close match against Missouri Southern, 1-0. It is Washburn's eighth win of the season, marking their most since 2017.
The Ichabods and the Lions were about even in the first half. Both teams possessed the ball about half the time and took very few shots. The Lions not only had two more shots than Washburn they also had more shots-on-goal.
Ichabods' keeper,
Raegan Wells, had four saves in the first half to keep Washburn in the game. Wells totaled five saves in the entire game. At the end of 45 minutes, the match was scoreless.
It didn't take long in the second half for this to change. In the 48
th minute, the Ichabods possessed the ball in Missouri Western's box. Vivianna Soto-Herrera took the first shot but was blocked by Lions' defenders.
Olivia Harriger took the ball off the block and scored off the right net. Washburn needed only two shots-on-goal to give themselves the lead.
Washburn's defense played well all game but was even more shutdown in the second half. Missouri Southern was only able to take four shots and just one was on-target.

Emily Michaelis played all 90 minutes in the Ichabods' shut out.
Washburn soccer finishes their three-game home stand with a match against Emporia State on Friday, October 29. It will be the second time these two teams will be meeting. Kick-off set for 6 p.m.
