Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Washburn men's tennis team defeated No. 7 Drury, 5-2, in its spring season opener on Sunday. This win marks Kirby Ronning's first win as the head coach of the Ichabods men's tennis team.

Drury won the doubles point by taking two of the three matches. Bradley Eidenmueller and Raul-Alin Dicu notched the Ichabods only doubles win with a 6-4 win at the No.2 spot. 
 
Washburn won the first singles point to even the match score after Haase claimed a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over his opponent in the No. 3 spot. Drury went back ahead after a victory at No. 2 singles. Dicu won the second singles point for Washburn at the top of the lineup with scores of 6-4, 2-6 and 6-3. Sebastian Pjontek defeated his opponent with scores of 6-3, 6-2 in his first collegiate win at No. 4. Eidenmueller clinched the winning point as he topped his opponent, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. Marc Roura Casi battled through a tough three set match and defeated his opponent with scores of 3-6, 6-2, and 1-0 (3).

The Ichabods will head to Omaha to face Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday, February 16, at 1:30 p.m.
