KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn baseball team placed 19 student-athletes on the 2021 MIAA Academic Honor Roll that was announced by the conference office today. Additionally, catcher
Kros Bay and designated hitter
Brett Ingram earned MIAA Scholar Athlete honors.
To be named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater and have attended the institution for two semesters. The 11 Washburn position players to be named to the honor roll were Bay (law enforcement),
Parker Dunn (marketing),
Cole Emerson (elementary education),
Wyatt Featherston (psychology),
Brett Ingram (finance),
Otto Jones (kinesiology),
Ashton Paith (exploratory),
Carson Sader (biology),
Peter Shearer (physics),
Calvin Steward (law enforcement), and
Mark Wanner (kinesiology).
Pitchers
Conner Bond (kinesiology),
Brock Gilliam (nursing),
Dalton Huggins (kinesiology),
Trevor Marreel (mathematics),
Braden Minor (management),
Michael Schurig (law enforcement),
Casey Steward (kinesiology), and
Cole Warner (finance) also earned academic honors.
Ingram, who received all-MIAA second team honors, and Bay, who was an all-MIAA honorable mention, earned a spot on the MIAA Scholar Athlete list for their all-conference honors and for achieving a GPA above 3.5.
The MIAA will announce freshmen and newcomer academic awards later this month.
