Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The men's tennis team extended their win streak to three games with another sweep. The Ichabods (5-1) controlled entire match in 6-1 win over Illinois Springfield.

Raul-Alin Dicu and Noah Neideck had nothing stand in their way when they defeated their opponent 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. No. 49 Daniel Bird and Miquel Perez finished right behind them with a 6-2 victory at No. 3 doubles. Bird and Perez on their way to a 6-2 doubles record together also gave the Ichabods the 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

Sebastian Pjontek and Matthew Earle finished the doubles sweep with their 7-5 victory at No. 1 doubles.

Pjontek at No. 3 singles was the first to finish in singles play defeating his opponent 6-3,6-2. Dicu ended up losing his first set 6-4 but was able to win the next two, 6-2, 6-3, giving Washburn the 3-0 advantage. Dicu's victory over No. 40 Tomas Martinez marks his 50^th singles win of his Washburn career and his second ranked win win of the season.

Tim Hammes was the final blow to the Prairie Stars from No. 2 in the lineup. Hammes looked strong in a 6-4 first set win but then fell in a set two tiebreaker to go into a third set. In the third, he took care of business winning, 6-4, to defeat No. 35 Menno Servaes. Hammes' victory confirmed the Washburn win over Illinois Springfield. Freshmen Hammes is 8-2 in his young Ichabods' career. It is Hammes' first ranked win of his career.

Perez from the fourth spot won the first set 6-4 and then battled in a 7-6 second-set victory. Bird lost his match in two sets, 6-3, 6-4. No. 49 Kim Niethammer rounded out the lineup with a 6-2, 6- victory.
