Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Ichabods' bottom of lineup lifted them to a win over Illinois Springfield. Washburn (4-1) defeated the Prairie Stars, 5-2, after two weeks off.

Marta Torres and Svea Crohn struck first with a 6-3 doubles victory as the No. 3 doubles. Maja Jung and Kinsey Fields at No. 2 doubles finished with the 6-4 win to get the doubles point again. Lara Schmid and Isabella Martensson at No.1 doubles swept doubles play for the fourth time this season, winning 7-5.

Martensson struggled to start singles play losing her match in two sets while second in the lineup. She lost 6-1 and then 6-2. Illinois Springfield tied the match up a 1-1. Jung gave the Ichabods back the lead with a 6-1, 6-4 victory as the third in the lineup. In her second set, Jung has a 8-1 singles record this season. Torres battled but dropped her first set, 6-3. She bounced back with a commanding 6-3 second set victory. However, Torres could not get it done in a 6-3 third set loss tying the match 2-2.

Crohn was also strong, at the No. 5 spot of the lineup. She got off to a hot start leading 3-0 in the first and went on to win it, 6-4. She shut out her opponent 6-0 in the second set once again giving the Ichabods the lead at 3-2.

At No. 4 singles, Schmid confirmed the Washburn win by winning in straight sets with scores of 6-4 in both. Cadence Lynn at the bottom of the lineup won in two sets, 6-3, 6-4.

The Ichabods stay in Springfield for a Sunday away match against Drury at 11 a.m.
