Box Score SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Ichabods (4-2) lost on the road to Drury, 5-2. The Panthers took an early lead and never gave it up.

The Ichabods ended their seven-match streak of earning the doubles point. The duo of Svea Crohn and Marta Torres was the first to fall in a 6-3 loss at No. 3 doubles. At the two spot, Maja Jung and Kinsey Fields dropped their first doubles match, 6-4, together since May 2021.

Drury not only took the doubles point but also swept all three matches. The No. 1 doubles team, Lara Schmid and Isabella Martensson, lost a tight 7-5 match.

Washburn fell to a 2-0 deficit once Jung lost in two sets, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 singles. Crohn closed the gap with a win from fifth in the lineup. Crohn struggled in a 6-1 loss in the first set, then turned it around with a 7-6 second set victory and a 6-4 third set victory. Drury responded by defeating Martensson at No. 2 singles in three sets. Martensson took the first set 6-4 but could not seal the deal, losing 6-1 and 6-3 in the final two sets.

The Ichabods' fate was determined once Cadence Lynn fell in two sets. Lynn fought hard in both sets, losing the first 6-4 and the second 7-6. Torres lost her first set and was competing in the second but did not finish the match.

Schmid earned the Ichabods' final point with a 4-6, 6-3, 7-5 victory from the No. 4 spot. Schmid has won her last three singles matches.

Washburn travels to Wichita Falls, Texas for two matches on Friday and Saturday. The Friday match is against Southeastern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m.
