Box Score TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn women's tennis team completed its second consecutive sweep against William Woods (1-3) its official spring opener. The Ichabods move to 2-0 on the young season.
The Ichabods took the lead quickly after gaining the doubles point.

Svea Crohn took the 6-1 win to get the doubles competition started. It was Crohn's first action of the season. Also competing for the first time,
Lara Schmid and doubles partner
Isabella Martensson secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over the No. 1 ranked NAIA Central Region doubles team.
Lara Schmid grabbed her first doubles win as an Ichabod. Martensson is 2-0 in doubles to begin her career.
In singles competition,
Maja Jung continued her dominant season, as she quickly defeated her opponent, 6-2, 6-2, from the No. 2 spot. Jung moved to third in singles winning percentage at Washburn. In the third spot, Schmid grabbed her first singles win as an Ichabod, defeating the second-ranked player in NAIA Central Region.
Marta Torres secured the Ichabods win, defeating the No. 1 ranked NAIA Central Region player, 6-3, 7-5. Washburn's final three would all receive wins to complete the 7-0 sweep.
The Ichabods travel to Illinois for two matches next weekend. The first of those matches will be against No. 2 Indianapolis in O'Fallon on February 12 at 6:30 p.m.
