Box Score AZUSA, Calif. – No. 7 Ichabods took down No. 16 Azusa Pacific, 4-2. Washburn is riding an eight-match win streak. Washburn is also 2-0 against ranked opponents.

In doubles competition, No. 34 Matthew Earle and Sebastian Pjontek got the match started with a 6-4 victory. The duo leads the team with nine doubles wins on the season. At No. 3 doubles, Miquel Perez and Santiago Rendon remain the hottest doubles team. Perez and Rendon's 7-5 win makes them 4-0 overall, all in the last four matches, and gave the Ichabods the lead

Raul-Alin Dicu and Noah Neideck were tied 5-5 before the match was stopped due to Washburn already winning doubles play.

No. 25 Tim Hammes defeated No. 69 Elia Walter in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Along with it being Hammes' 12th win of the season, it is also his second ranked win. The Cougars down 2-0 fought back with two straight wins to tie the match. At No. 4 singles, Pjontek was defeated in both sets by a score of 6-1 and at No. 2 singles Perez was defeated in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

The match got more intense with every critical point. Daniel Bird won his first set 6-3 but fell 6-1 in the second set. Bird was down in the third then tied it up at 6-6 for a tiebreaker. He won the tiebreaker 7-4 to give the Ichabods a 3-2 lead. Washburn needed just one point to win, and Rendon delivered. Rendon lost the first set 6-4 but won the next two 6-2 and 7-6 (2).

Dicu also lost the first set 6-3 and won the second 7-6 (5). He did not finish the third set due to Washburn winning the match

The Ichabods have another top-10 matchup on Sunday against No. 6 Hawaii Pacific. The match starts at the same time of 4 p.m.
