MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- Maja Jung, Santiago Rendon and Tim Hammes will all play for spots in their respective championships for Washburn on Saturday with Jung advancing to the semifinals in women's singles and Rendon and Hammes going to the final four in men's doubles.  

Maja Jung began the day in the morning for the Ichabods winning her first set 6-3 against Angelina Linnikova from the University of North Georgia and she followed it up with the same result in the second set to win and advance to the semifinals on Saturday. 

Through two matches at the ITA Cup, Jung has not dropped a set, and won her four sets by a combined score of 24-9. She will take on Salma Djoubri from Lynn University in the semifinals at 11 a.m. EST.  

On the doubles side Jung and Lara Schmid won a swift opening set over Estefania Garcia and Regina Urbiola Armenta of Auburn University at Montgomery, 6-2. They came up just short in the second set losing 7-5 and fell in the third set tiebreaker 10-7. They will take on Nadja Meier and Dana Heimen of Flagler College in the North stage semifinals. 

In men's doubles Santiago Rendon and Tim Hammes played a marathon match, winning the first set 7-6(5). In the second Nicolas Bacella and Ghali Mensour of Saint Leo were able to even the score with a 6-3 win but Rendon and Hammes were able pull out an 11-9 tiebreaking third set victory to advance to the quarterfinals.  

In the final four they will face Phil Exner and Alex Blanchar at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.  

In consolation competition Sebastian Pjontek picked up a 6-3, 7-6(4) win over Roni Rikkonen and will play at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday in the West semifinals. Rendon lost the opening set of his consolation match, won the second 7-6(5) but fell in a 7-6(3) tiebreaking third set.
