TOPEKA, Kan. -- For the first time in program history No. 1 Washburn soccer is heading to the third round of the NCAA Tournament after a 3-2 comeback win against No. 5 Central Missouri in the semifinals of the NCAA Central Region tournament on Sunday, Nov. 19.

The Ichabods used all 90 minutes of regulation after falling behind 2-0 in the first half and were dominant in the overtime period, outshooting the Jennies 4-0 with Khloe Schuckman scoring her second goal of the game in the 109th minute to break the tie and give Washburn the win, 3-2.

With the victory the Ichabods reset a program record winning an 18th game on the year and for the first time will be playing past the the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament. In the third round they will take on No. 2 Emporia State in Ashland, Ohio on Dec. 1.

Central Missouri started the scoring in the 26th minute and added another goal ten minutes later in the 36th minute. The Jennies out-shot Washburn 7-2 in the first 45 minutes with the Ichabods unable to record a shot on goal.

Washburn began to shift the momentum in the 62nd minute after a Lakin Rold free kick was headed into the back of the net by Khloe Schuckman to cut the deficit in half. The Ichabods continued to apply pressure, taking eight total shots in the second half with six going on goal.

Finally, with just two seconds left in regulation Aubrey Tanksley knocked a ball into the net off a corner kick with time running out by Mackinly Rohn. The ball bounced off three players before reaching the foot of Tanksley and went off another UCM defender into the goal.
