SAN DIEGO, Cali. -- Santiago Rendon and Tim Hammes finished the fall season for Washburn tennis at the second day of the 2023 ITA DI Fall National Championships falling to Pepperdine University in the consolation bracket. The Ichabod men's spring season will begin on Jan. 20 with an exhibition against Drake University.  

Hammes and Rendon were able to hold serve early in the first set against Linus Carlsson Halldin and George Davis from Pepperdine University but came up short late falling 6-3 in the opening set. The duo was unable to get anything going in the second set to end the match.  

The pairs fall season ends as the first Washburn doubles team to win the ITA Cup National Championship and the first Ichabods to play in the DI Fall National Championships.
