KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn freshman kick returner / wide receiver D.J. Bell has been named the MIAA's Special Teams Athlete of the Week for his performance against Missouri Southern (Sept. 7) in Yager Stadium.

D.J. Bell became the fourth Ichabod in program history to return a kickoff for 100-yards in the third quarter cutting MSSU's lead to 23-20 with 1:11 to play in the quarter. He also led the Ichabods with seven receptions for 64 yards and 123 more yards in returns. 

Bell joins James Letcher, Jr. (vs FHSU, Sept. 21, 2019), Fletcher Terrell (vs UCM, Sept. 10, 2005) and Cary Williams (vs MSSU, Oct. 6, 2007) as the only Ichabods to return a kickoff 100 yards.
