TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn men's tennis qualified three players into the semifinals in Flight A on day two of the ITA Regionals. The Ichabods are guaranteed one entry into the finals and will begin play at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday.  

In the round of 16 for Flight A Washburn got four wins with Pavlos Parson, Tommy Cecchetti, Sebastian Pjontek and Santiago Rendon advancing into the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinal round Parson and Cecchetti met and Parson moved on to the final day along with both Pjontek and Rendon. It will be Parson against Rendon on one side of the bracket to begin the final day.  

In Flight B both Graham Faris and Moritz Pieper won their quarterfinals matches to start the day. Pieper continued on, winning in the semifinals in two sets while Faris fell.  

On the doubles side Pjontek and Daniel Bird lost 8-5 in the Round of 16. Tim Hammes and Santiago Rendon also fell, losing 8-6 to end the Washburn run on the main side of doubles.  

In Flight B the Ichabods were knocked out in the quarterfinals, with Daniel Harkin and Ivan Ivanov losing 8-4. Harkin was able to pick up two wins in the singles consolation bracket for Flight A, moving onto the semifinals tomorrow.  

Faris and Cecchetti lost 8-3 in the Round of 16 consolation for Flight A.
