KEARNEY, Neb. -- The Ichabod men finished a weekend of duals with DI opponents with morning matches against Nebraska-Omaha at the UNK Hidden Duals. Washburn will be sending four players to the ITA Cup beginning
Beginning with doubles play the duo of Moritz Pieper and Pavlos Parson fell 6-3, as did Matthew Earle and Marco Romano. Graham Faris and Daniel Harkin took an extra game against the Mavericks duo but came up short, 6-4.
Parson began singles competition falling 6-2, 6-3. After losing hos opening set 6-1, Earle battled to force a tiebreaking game in the third, falling just short 7-6(2). Harkin split his first two sets falling 4-6 in the first and winning 6-3 in the second. The third set 10-point tiebreaker went to Nebraska-Omaha, 10-7. Pieper gave the Ichabods their first victory of the day, bouncing back after falling 4-6 in the first set to win 6-3 in the second and taking a 15-13 tiebreaker in the third.
