"I coached against Ty when he played at UNK and he was very tough and competitive, and I love guys with that mentality and that mindset fits our culture well" Ballard said. "He has experience as an assistant coach in our league and was most recently instrumental in building a very good roster at Fort Lewis. They have won a ton of games, and he clearly has a knack for recruiting and developing high-level guys. He came highly recommended from the people he has worked with, and we're excited to welcome him to Washburn."

In three seasons at Fort Lewis, the Skyhawks were a combined 77-17 going 29-4 in the final two seasons winning the RMAC Tournament twice with an RMAC regular season crown in 2022-23. "I am grateful for the opportunity to join Washburn University under the leadership of Coach Ballard," Danielson said. "As both a player and a coach, I have long admired the resilience, unselfishness, and competitive spirit embodied by Coach Ballard's teams. Joining the Ichabod family is an honor, and I am eager to contribute to the team's continued success. I look forward to the exciting journey ahead."

Prior to going Fort Lewis, Danielson spent three years on the Missouri Western coaching staff, helping the Griffons to a 14-11 record as they finished third in the MIAA and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 11 years.
