LEXINGTON, Ky. -- For a third straight week Washburn volleyball remains ranked No. 2 in the latest AVCA poll released on Monday afternoon.
The Ichabods moved to 20-1 on the season after knocking off No. 25 Emporia State last week to win an eighth straight match. Washburn received 1,124 total points in the vote, one more than last week.
Tampa continues to hold down the top spot in the nation along with all 47 first-place votes with 1,175 total points and a 19-0 record. Barry sits at No. 3, Nebraska Kearney at No. 4 and Point Loma rounding out the top five.
Around the MIAA, Central Oklahoma also ranks No. 7, while Missouri Western moves up to No. 24. Emporia State dropped out of the rankings but is still receiving votes as is Central Missouri.
Washburn will begin the week on the road with a ranked battle against the No. 23 Griffons on Friday, Oct. 31 at 6 p.m.
