COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Washburn Soccer Team's season came to an end Thursday evening after a 2-1 defeat against Franklin Pierce.
"Thought we played really well, thought we had a really good mentality, really proud of how our team played," said Head Coach
Davy Phillips. " The program is in such a healthy place because the girls invest so much on a daily basis."
"These girls are so special. This team was built on love, so much love in everything we did. I couldn't be more grateful; these girls made it the best experience I've ever had," said Senior

FIRST HALF
Washburn came out of the gates strong, as in the opening minute,
Leah Henke had a header go over the bar. Washburn had 6 shots in the half, while the Ravens took four.
SECOND HALF
The second half would start the same, as Washburn had 4 shots in the opening 10 minutes with two on target, but in the 66th minute
Kate Hinck would open the scoring after a ball over the top from
Sam Searcey would put the bods on top. Franklin Pierce would then score two goals 62 seconds apart to take a 2-1 lead late in the match.
NOTES
- Washburn outshot 16-9.
- Kate Hinck scored her 7th goal of the season, and Searcey's 6th assist of the year
- Lili Everley made 5 saves in the match.
Washburn ends their season in the Final Four. They were the NCAA Central Region Champions and went to the Final Four for the second time ever in program history.
