LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Washburn volleyball finishes the season ranked No. 8 nationally in the final AVCA poll released by the organization on Monday afternoon.
The Ichabods, who finished the season with a 27-5 record overall and went 13-3 inside the MIAA, were ranked nationally in every poll of the season with the majority in the top-10 while reaching as high as No. 2.
Washburn received 778 total points of votes in the final poll, moving down one spot from a No. 7 ranking in the final poll of the regular season.
The National Champion MSU Denver takes the top spot followed by runners-up Concordia-St. Paul. At No. 3 is Tampa followed by Point Loma and St. Cloud State to round out the top-five. Around the MIAA, Nebraska Kearney finishes at No. 7, Central Oklahoma at No. 13, Missouri Western at No. 17 while Emporia State and Central Missouri are receiving votes.
