KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time since the Feb. 11, 2025 NABC top 25 coaches poll, the Washburn Ichabods are sitting atop the rankings after being released by the coaching organization today. Moments after topping the then-ranked No. 4 Lubbock Christian Chaps, Washburn jumped from No. 2 to No. 1 in the polls. On Wednesday, the Ichabods will face the No. 4-ranked West Texas A&M Buffs in their second game in San Antonio at the River City Classic.
The Ichabods had been ranked No. 2 in each poll this season, but moved up to the top spot after Nova Southeastern fell to Palm Beach Atlantic last time out. The Ichabods have been ranked in the top 10 in the last 19 polls dating back to last year and in the top five in the last 17 consecutive polls.
