KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Washburn women's basketball senior Yiibari Nwidadah was named the MIAA Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon by the conference office. She receives the honor for the first time this season and the second time in her career.  

Nwidadah helped lead the Ichabods to a 2-0 week with wins over Nebraska Kearney and No. 3 Fort Hays State. The Olathe, Kan. Native averaged 19.5 ppg on 59.3% shooting (16-27) while also grabbing 8.5 rpg. On the defensive end she averaged 2.0 bpg and 1.5 spg to cap off the all-around performance. In the 67-64 win over the No. 3 Tigers she scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.  

The Ichabods are back in action this Saturday to host Central Missouri at 1 p.m. in Lee Arena.
