Ichabod men's basketball honored for classroom work by MIAA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- In addition to reaching the 2025 NCAA national semifinals, winning the NCAA Central Region and an MIAA regular season title and a season-record of 30-4, the Washburn Ichabod men's basketball team placed a league-best nine student-athletes of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll that was announced today by the league office.

To be eligible for the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have attended at least two semesters at the current institution. 

The Ichabods had Jack Bachelor (marketing), Brady Christiansen (marketing), Zaid Dajani (business), Michael Keegan (MBA), Andrew Orr (sociology), Cole Parker (management), Jake Schadegg (kinesiology), Brayden Shorter (finance) and Sam Ungashick (accounting) all named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Both Bachelor and Keegan were named MIAA Scholar Athletes with their combo of grade point average and postseason MIAA honors.

A total of 55 total men's basketball student-athletes named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, with six Scholar-Athletes and five earning Academic Excellence honors.   

Awards for transfer student-athletes and freshmen award winners will be announced at the end of the academic season in June.
