KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Caleb Lunnon was named as the MIAA Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday afternoon by the conference office. It is the first weekly award for Washburn on the pitching side and the second overall this season.
Lunnon made a pair of starts in a busy last week for the Ichabods, throwing 13.0 innings and not allowing a single run. He pitched seven scoreless innings against Fort Hays State on the road last Tuesday, while allowing just one hit. On Monday against Rogers State he threw six more scoreless innings without issuing a walk and earning the win to make him 3-0 on the year. He struck out five batters in each game, with just two total walks.
Washburn is back in action on Wednesday at Falley Field, hosting No. 2 Central Missouri at 5 p.m.
