WARRENSBURG, MO. - The Washburn Men's Golf Team opens its fall season the The Mule Monday morning.

"Looking to get the year going and see where we are as a group, a bunch of new faces and young kids in the lineup, and excited to see them play tournament golf. We have a great group of guys on and off the course, including one returning All-American and another All-Conference player. It will be fun to see where we can be come postseason!" said Washburn Head Coach Ronnie McHenry. 

The Ichabods return nine golfers to go along with five newcomers, which include four freshmen and one transfer.

Senior Marco Anderson is one of the key returners for the Ichabods. Last season, the South African native won the NCAA Midwest/Central region Championship. He shot an average score of 74 in 36 rounds on the season. Last season in this very event, he shot a season low of 70 on his way to a T-14th finish. 

Two of the newcomers are freshman Jacob Fratzel and Jake Kolich, who were teammates in high school at St. James Academy, where in their senior season they won the state title as a team and where they finished 3rd & 4th as individuals.

The Ichabods will play 36 holes tomorrow with Round 1 starting at 8:30 with a shotgun start. Round 2 shotgun start time is TBD. Washburn will conclude The Mule tournament on Tuesday, with that time also TBD.
