TEMPE, Ariz. -- Washburn women's tennis begins the 2026 spring season ranked No. 13 in the first ITA poll of the season released on Wednesday morning by the organization after the fall season of tournaments.
The Ichabods move up five spots from No. 18 where they were ranked in the final poll of the 2024-25 season after a strong showing in the fall. Barry stakes claim to the top spot followed by Nova Southeastern and North Georgia. Flagler and West Alabama round out the top-five respectively.
Washburn is the only school in the MIAA ranked in the poll while Central Oklahoma and Nebraska Kearney are receiving votes.
The Ichabods are set to begin the spring season with an exhibition match at home against Seward County CC beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24.
