KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn Ichabod basketball squad remained on top of the NCAA Division II world for the fifth-straight week after going 2-0 last week with wins over Emporia State and Newman in road contests. For the first time since Jan. 3, the Ichabod returns to Lee Arena hosting Northwest Missouri on Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. facing the Bearcats for the second time in 11 days.
The Ichabods moved to 18-0 after the two wins, remaining undefeated in NCAA Division II along with second-ranked Daemen and No. 7 Cal State East Bay.
The Ichabods have been ranked in the top 10 in the last 23 polls dating back to last year and in the top five in the last 21 consecutive polls overall.
After facing the Bearcats on Wednesday, Washburn returns to Lee Arena for one more game hosting Missouri Western on Jan. 24 before heading back on the road for a three-game road trip starting at Fort Hays State on Jan. 29.
