TOPEKA, Kan. – The Washburn women's soccer team defeated Nebraska Kearney 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at Yager Stadium.
Washburn improves to 9-1-1 and 5-1 in the MIAA and Nebraska Kearney falls to 3-6-3 and 1-4-1 in the MIAA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Avery McCorry scored a pair of goals in the eighth and 23
rd minutes to give Washburn an early 2-0 lead in the first half.
Kate Hinck and
Aubree Blackman assisted on McCorry's second goal. Nebraska Kearney mustered one first-half shot, which was on goal.
The Lopers recorded only three shots for the match, all of which were on goal. Ichabod goalkeeper
Lili Everley recorded saves on all three shot attempts from UNK. Washburn outshot UNK 11-2 in the second half but was unable to add on to the 2-0 lead.
