LEXINGTON, Ky. -- For a second straight week Washburn volleyball climbed one spot in the AVCA poll released Monday afternoon by the organization, rising to No. 13 in the week six poll.
Washburn received 572 total points in the poll after going 2-0 last week with a pair of five-set victories to move to 16-3 overall and 5-1 in the MIAA. They rose up one spot from a No. 14 ranking a week ago.
Ferris State holds down the top spot and takes home 45 first-place votes. Wayne State sits in second with one first-place nod while Tampa rounds out the top three. Fresno Pacific sits in four with the final first-place vote and Nebraska Kearney moves into the top-five.
Also around the MIAA, Missouri Western is ranked No. 7, Emporia State drops to No. 19 and both Central Oklahoma and Central Missouri are receiving votes.
Washburn is back in action next on Tuesday, Oct. 6 inside of Whiting Fieldhouse as they take on Central Missouri beginning at 6 p.m.
