Sadie Walker has been named the MIAA's Softball Pitcher of the Week after her performance at the Cherokee Classic in Tahlequah, Okla. last weekend. The Ichabods will open their home slate this weekend at the Washburn Invitational with six games over three days starting on Friday at 2 p.m. against Montana State-Billings at 2 p.m. at Gahnstrom Field.
Walker was 3-0 during the weekend with a 0.35 ERA in three starts, striking out 17 with two walks allowing one earned run in 20 innings of pitching. Against No. 24-ranked Oklahoma Baptist, Walker tossed a four-hit complete game shutout striking out seven with no walks in a 2-0 win. She scattered seven hits in a 7-3 win over Harding striking out four allowing one earned run. In the final appearance of the weekend, she tossed another complete game shutout allowing five hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
