ARKADELPHIA, Ark. -- No. 5 Washburn worked a third straight ranked victory away from home defeating No. 29 Ouachita Baptist 5-2 on Thursday afternoon. The Ichabods are back in action again on Friday, March 20 against No. 47 Southern Arkansas at 10 a.m. in Magnolia, Ark.  

Pavlos Parson and Tommy Cecchetti led off the match with a 6-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles giving Washburn (9-5) the advantage. The Tigers (10-2) evened doubles play up winning 6-3 at No. 3 over Yuto Miyagawa and Yoshinobu Nakatsuji. Benjamin Fock and Zino Nahirniak battled on the top court and came away with a 6-4 win to clinch the first point of the match.  

Ouachita Baptist was able to tie up the match to begin singles play as No. 58 Ramon Strassmann won 6-1 and 6-2 sets over No. 26 Pavlos Parson. They added another point with Moritz Pieper falling in two sets on court five, 6-1 and 6-2. Zino Nahirniak cruised to a 6-1 win in his first set at No. 4 and battled to a 6-4 victory in the second to even the match back up.  

No. 27 Tommy Cecchetti opened his dual on court two winning 6-1 in the first and brought up match point with a 6-3 second set victory. No. 43 Kilian Martinez went back-and-forth but came away with a 6-3 first set win on court three and clinched the match winning 6-4 in the second. Benjamin Fock won 6-3 in his firs set, fell 5-7 in the second but rallied to win 10-6 in the ten-point third set on court six to wrap up the match.
