TEMPE, Ariz. -- Both Washburn tennis squads remain ranked in the top-20 of the latest ITA rankings released Wednesday morning with the men at No. 10 and the women at No. 17.
The Ichabod men move down two spots after going 1-0 last week moving to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Around the conference Nebraska Kearney is ranked No. 21, Ouachita Baptist is ranked No. 28, Harding moves to No. 40 and Northwest Missouri takes the final slot at No. 50.
Four players rank on the singles side led by Tommy Cecchetti at No. 32 and Pavlos Parson just behind at No. 34. Kilian Martinez moves to No. 40 and Yuto Miyagawa at No. 64.
In doubles action Zino Nahirniak and Benjamin Fock continue to rise, moving up to No. 11 while Tommy Cecchetti and Pavlos Parson are ranked No. 45 nationally.
After going 1-1 last week the Washburn women are 10-3 on the year and 1-1 in the MIAA. They move down five spots from a No. 12 ranking last week. Around the MIAA, Northwest Missouri is ranked No. 32, while Central Oklahoma enters at No. 37.
On the singles side Renske Ubachs moves to No. 25 in the nation while Riko Konno remains ranked, sliding to No. 53. In doubles Renske Ubachs and Daniela Tijaro are ranked No. 7 in the nation.
Both teams will return to the court on Tuesday, April 7 when they host Nebraska Kearney at the Castillo Family Tennis Complex.
