TOPEKA, Kan. -- Ichabod women's tennis was ranked as the No. 1 team in the latest NCAA Regional Rankings released Wednesday afternoon. 

They were included in the first list a week ago that was sorted alphabetically before taking the top spot in the first official poll. Washburn is 15-3 overall on the year with an 11-1 record inside the region. Augustana is second in the region sitting at 17-2 overall and 15-1 against regional opponents. 

The eight-team list consists of five MIAA schools (Washburn, Missouri Western, Central Oklahoma, Northwest Missouri and Northeastern State) along with two NSIC teams (Augustana and Minnesota State) and Southeastern Oklahoma State from the GAC.  

The top six teams in the final rankings will qualify for the NCAA Tournament with the top two seeds serving as hosts and receiving a first round bye. The winner at each three-team host site will advance to the NCAA Championships.   

A new set of rankings will be released next Wednesday, April 29.
