INDIANAPOLIS, In. -- No. 17 nationally ranked Washburn women's tennis enters the NCAA National Championships as the No. 8 seed in the tournament. They will face the No. 9 seed and No. 8 nationally ranked Columbus State in the round of 16.
Washburn entered into the tournament with a 20-4 record after defeating No. 33 Central Oklahoma 4-1 to advance out of the central region bracket for the fifth time in program history.
No. 8 Columbus State takes a 20-4 record into the tournament as well, defeating No. 15 Flagler College 4-0 to advance into the national tournament.
All matches at the NCAA National Championships will take place at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz. The Ichabod match will take place on Tuesday, May 19 at 8 a.m. pacific time.
