KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Washburn women's soccer team was picked first in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Preseason Coaches Poll for the 2026 season on Wednesday.
 
The Ichabods were picked first in the poll, receiving seven first place votes and 138 points.
 
Washburn is coming off a strong 14-4-6 season, which included a NCAA Division II Championship semifinal appearance in 2025. 
 
The Ichabods host their regular-season opener at home vs. pre-season No. 21 Maryville on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. at Yager Stadium.
