TOPEKA, Kan. -- Washburn's Emma Siron from Ichabod volleyball and Logan Madden from Ichabod football have been named the Hy-Vee Student Athletes of the Week for their performances last week ending on Aug. 30.

Emma Siron was named the tournament MVP at the Washburn Invitational helping the No. 8 Ichabods to a perfect opening weekend. She tallied 58 total kills (4.14 per set) while hitting .307%. She also served seven aces, scooped 37 digs (2.64 per set) and made three blocks. In the season-opening win over Oklahoma Christian she crushed 20 kills in four sets while serving four aces and adding eight digs. 

Logan Madden completed 28 of 38 passes for a career-high 328 yards and two touchdowns while adding 24 rushing yards leading the Ichabods to a season-opening 27-21 win at Truman on Aug. 29. His passing yardage was 107 more than his previous career high as he collected his first 300-yard passing game. He completed 74 percent of his passes as well including a stretch of 16 of 18 completed passes.
