TOPEKA, Kan. -- Ichabod men's tennis wrapped up its opening weekend of the 2026-27 season with the final day of the Washburn Invitational. They will be in action next weekend facing Creighton University in an exhibition match on Saturday, Sept. 26. 

Singles competition began the day as Petr Leipner finished off his Purple Flight draw with a three-set championship round win. Keita Kuroda and Nicolas Hurtado-Novoa each won an extra-match dual while Kilian Martinez, Benjamin Fock and Gael Mourmant all fell in their final singles duals of the day. 

In doubles play Benjamin Fock and Nicolas Hurtado-Novoa lost a semifinals battle 6-2 to end their Blue Flight run. In the Red Flight, Kilian Martinez and Gael Mourmant won 6-2 in the semifinals and 7-5 in the championship round to finish out doubles flight play.
