ANDOVER, Kan. – The Washburn women's golf team is tied for fifth place after the first round at the Newman Invite at Terradyne Country Club on Monday.

Washburn is 10-over par as a team and sits seven strokes behind first-place Southwestern Oklahoma State at 3-over.

Susana Granados Carrion shot an even-par 71 and is tied for eighth place in the tournament. Granados Carrion recorded 14 pars and two birdies in the round.

Raegan Petersen shot a 73 (+2) and had three birdies in the round. Petersen is tied for 19th after the opening round.

Keira Ronsick is right behind Petersen after shooting a 74 (+3) in the first round. Ronsick recorded 13 pars and one birdie in the round.

Amy Fusedale shot a 76 (+5) and had four birdies in the first round. She is tied for 42nd.

Aliyah North is tied for 50th after shooting a 77 (+6), while Kat Ball is tied for 67th after carding a 79 (+8) as an individual.

The Ichabods will finish the Newman Invite on Tuesday morning, starting at 9 a.m.
