At Washburn: Will see time on special teams and in the receiving rotation as he enters the fall listed No. 2 on the depth chart at the “Z” wide receiver’s spot.

In 2007: Played in eight games averaging 10.7 yards per reception with seven catches for 75 yards … had a career-long 17-yard catch against Pittsburg State.

In 2006: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

Background: Passed for 514 yards and four touchdowns as a sophomore … also had a reception for five yards … had two receptions for 21 yards as a freshman playing in all 11 games at Coffeyville Community College.

Personal: Born on Oct. 1, 1985 … son of Clyde and Marion Stepps … majoring in mass media …?older brother Travis spent two seasons at Washburn as a graduate assistant on the football coaching staff and now coaches at Southern Illinois.
