As a Junior in 2008
• He played in 44 games with 43 starts, all but one of them at first base.
• He batted .261 with 40 hits in 153 at-bats. He drove in 17 runs and scored 20 times.
• He had a .995 fielding percentage with just two errors in 387 chances. That total led the team and was the second highest single-season total in WU history among players with at least 250 chances.
• He went his first 15 games without an error and he finished the year without an error in the last 13 games.
• He had 11 multi-hit games with a season-high, seven-game hitting streak late in the year. During that streak from 04/14 - 04/25 he was 15 of 35 for a .429 average.

Johnson County Community College (2006-07)
• Played two years for Johnson County Community College at first base, second base and left field.
• He started every game and batted .293 his freshman year and .275 his sophomore year.

Maize High School
• A 2005 graduate of Maize High School where he played at every base on the infield and also played wide receiver and strong safety on the football team.
• He was named a Gatorade Will-to-Win Athlete in baseball and also named the team’s most inspirational player.
• Had a career .333 average and went his senior year without an error.
• He was a four-time academic letterwinner.

Born on May 12, 1987 … full name is Luis Beltran Lopez III … son of Thalia Lopez and Louis Beltran Lopez II … his father played baseball at Wichita State and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox.
