As a Junior in 2008
• He played in 22 games with 19 starts as a pitcher, first baseman and designated hitter.
• On the mound he went 4-5 with 10 appearances and nine starts. He had a 6.63 ERA with 39 strikeouts and 18 walks.
• He threw two complete games.
• He struck out a season-high six batters on 03/15 against Southwest Baptist and earned the win in a 4-1 decision. He allowed one run in six innings that game.
• He played three games at first base and had no errors in 15 attempts.
• He batted .270 in 17 games as a designated hitter.
• For the year he batted .260 with 19 hits in 73 at-bats. He drove in 14 and hit two home runs.

Kansas City Kansas Community College (2006-07)
• Played pitcher, third base and designated hitter for two years for Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Grain Valley High School
• A 2005 graduate of Grain Valley High School where he was a three-sport athlete.
• He earned first team all-state and all-metro honors his junior and senior year, as well as first team all-conference his final three years.
• Holds pitching records at his school with 10 single-season wins, 18 career wins and 150 career strikeouts.
• Named the state American Legion player of the year his senior year after going 7-1 on the mound with a 1.80 ERA and 83 strikeouts, as well as batting .400 with 15 home runs and 53 RBI.
• Also played forward on the basketball team and outside linebacker on the football team.
