Background: A three-time All-City selection and as a senior was on The Capital-Journal second team All-State Top 11 … the 2008 City Defensive Player of the Year and as a junior was the City Co-Offensive Player of the Year … 93 tackles during his senior season with six tackles for loss and a sack … finished his career with a school-record 268, and offensively he rushed for 658 yards on 81 carries and seven touchdowns … He was the T-Birds’ team MVP three straight years … a two-way all-Centennial League pick and selected to play in the 2009 Kansas Shrine Bowl … received the U.S. Army’s Iron Man of the Year for the state of Kansas.
