Biography

Background: At Missouri Southern as a senior in 2009, he recorded 13 tackles with five solo stops including 1.5 tackles for loss and a half sack in two games for the Lions before suffering a season-ending injury against the Ichabods in Yager Stadium. At Missouri Southern as a junior in 2008: Put together an outstanding junior season earning second-team Daktronics All-American honors, becoming the first Lion since current Green Bay Packer Allen Barbre to achieve the honor ...  was also an honorable mention D2Football.com and Don Hansen’s Football Gazette All-American selection as well as a first-team Daktronics Super Region Four All-Region pick ...  was a first-team all-MIAA selection after leading the league in tackles (120, 10.9 pg)  ... ranked 10th in Division II in tackles per game ... set career highs in tackles on two different occasions with 17 and 18 stops ... led the Lions with a team-high three fumble recoveries this year … as a junior in 2007 he moved into the starting role at linebacker where he was the leading tackler for the Lions where he recorded 96 tackles which also placed him second in the MIAA averaging 8.7 tackles a game  earning him second team all-MIAA honors … had a season high 2.5 sacks against Missouri Western … finished the season with 3.5 sacks and 14 tackles for a loss … also recorded two interceptions for the Lions … as a sophomore in 2006 he played in all 11 games while starting six games… was second on the team with 64 tackles and recorded 21 solo tackles… had a season high 11 tackles against Fort Hays State… tied for the team high with an interception against Pittsburg… also had 6.5 tackles for a loss of 17 yards … he sat out the 2005 season as a redshirt. In high school he helped lead the Kirksville Tigers of coach Doug Baughman to the state quarterfinals as a sophomore and senior ... he was a three-year starter at linebacker and center where he totaled 136 tackles, a sack, intercepted three passes, recovered two fumbles and blocked a field goal as a senior ... logged career total of 308 tackles ... a first-team all-state pick at linebacker in 2004 and was a second-team choice at center ... earned all-conference and all-area honors each year.

Personal: Born June 5, 1987 … son of Jeff and Jeanne Brawner … has already graduated with a degree in finance and business management from Missouri Southern and enrolled in MBA program at Washburn.
