Biography
In 2015: Named All-MIAA Third Team … earned MIAA Scholar Athlete honors and was named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll … started all 53 games at third base for the Ichabods … led team with a .371 batting average (69-for-186), tied for the team lead in runs batted in (53), finished second on the team in hits (69), runs (53), home runs (10), triples (three) and walks (20) … was hit by 14 pitches on the year while posting a .602 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base percentage … had 17 multi-hit games and a team-leading 18 multi-RBI performances, including a four-RBI game at Northwest Missouri on April 17 … tied for sixth in the MIAA with 53 RBI … went 20-for-22 in stolen bases (second most on the team) … reached base safely in all but seven games .. had the team’s longest hitting streak (12) from April 16 to May 7.
In 2014: Started all 50 games at third base ... earned honorable mention All-MIAA ... led the team and was fifth in the MIAA with a .395 batting average ... led the league and was 11th in the country with a .513 on-base percentage and reached base safely in all but two games ... finished 12th in the league with 13 stolen bases and tied for third with four triples ... had an 18-game hitting streak from March 23 through April 18 where hit raised his batting average to .414 ... went 3 for 3 and walked three times on April 25 at Northeastern State ... he drove in six runs that game to tie for the second most in school history ... .he batted .536 (30 of 56) during the stretch ... went 4 for 6 on April 4 against Emporia State and scored three runs ... had 15 multi-hit games during the year, second best on the team, and led the team with 10 multi-RBI games ... had a .936 fielding percentage with nine errors in 141 chances.
In 2013: Played in 37 games with 36 starts in the infield ... played most of his games at third base but also played second and shortstop ... hit .264 with 32 hits in 121 at-bats ... drove in 12 runs and scored 13 times ... had 10 multi-hit games with season highs of three twice ... went 3 for 5 in hit season opener against Truman on Feb. 16 and went 3 for 6 with two RBI against Fort Hays State on April 11 had seven errors for a .941 fielding percentage.
Background: A 2012 graduate of Marshalltown High School where he lettered in baseball his final three seasons for the Bobcats ... he hit .457 as a senior with 23 RBI in 116 at-bats ... struck out just four times while drawing four walks ... had a .716 slugging percentage with 14 doubles, five triples and two home runs ... stole 32 bases in 37 attempts ... lettered in track all four years ... went to the Drake Relays and state his final three years in various races ... also played football and basketball for four years ... earned the Iowa Governor’s Scholar Award.
