Biography

In 2015: Picked to All-MIAA Third Team as an outfielder … Started all 53 games for the Ichabods in the outfield … ranked third on the team with a .335 (69-for-206) average and second in hits … extra base efforts included six doubles, two triples and one home run … drove in 27 on the year with a .398 slugging and a .403 on-base percentage … first on the team with 22 steals in 31 attempts … posted  .976 fielding percentage … second on the team with 18 multi-hit games, including two four-hit efforts (Feb. 25 vs Rockhurst and March 15 at Emporia State), the only Ichabod to have a four-hit game on the year … put together five multi-RBI games and had a nine-game hitting streak during the season (April 14 to April 25) … second in the MIAA in steal attempts (31), third in stolen bases (22) and tied for third in the MIAA in runs scored (56) and at bats (206).
 
In 2014: Played in and started 47 games in center field ... named honorable mention All-MIAA ... hit .269 with 47 hits in 175 at-bats ... finished first on the team and third in the MIAA with 22 stolen bases ... had 24 walks and seven sacrifice hits ... hit two home runs, six doubles and two triples for a .360 slugging percentage ... had a .978 fielding percentage with two errors in 93 attempts ... had two outfield assists ... went 3 for 5 April 26 at Northeastern State with four RBI and three runs scored ... he had two RBI singles in Washburn’s 14-run fourth inning that game.

In 2013: Started all 44 games at center field and earned All-MIAA honorable mention ... batted .308 with 52 hits in 169 at-bats ... had four home runs, six doubles and two triples for a .438 slugging percentage ... led Washburn with 19 stolen bases in 23 attempts ... went 2 for 3 on March 22 against Central Missouri with two solo homers ... drove in a season-high three runs on April 14 against Southwest Baptist as he was 2 for 4 from the plate ... also drove in three on April 21 at Central Oklahoma while going 3 for 5 at the plate with three runs scored ... had two outfield assists in a game against Northwest Missouri on March 7.

Background: Sat out as a redshirt at Arkansas in 2012 as the Razorbacks went 22-16 and advanced to the College World Series and won their first two games in Omaha … A 2011 graduate of Lansing High School (Lansing, Kan.) where he lettered all four years for the Lions ... named Kansas Player of the Year in all divisions as a senior ... named First Team All-State his final three years at center field and infield positions ... his team finished third in state as a junior ... also played football his final two years and earned First Team All-State as a receiver his last two years ... also played defensive back.

Personal: Son of Pete and Victoria Gibson ... majoring in physics ... born in Atlanta, Ga ... .his father wrestled at Ohio State.
