Biography

At Washburn
Has played in 71 games making 61 starts scoring 751 points averaging 10.6 ppg and 9.2 rpg … his 170 career blocks are the most in school history passing the next highest total of 100 … has reached double figure rebounds in 33 games and double figure points in 39 … has recorded 25 career double doubles and has been a three-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and MIAA Scholar Athlete listings.

As a junior in 2016-17
Repeated as the MIAA Defensive Player of the Year also earning first team all-MIAA accolades after leading the MIAA in rebounds with 11.2 per game and 3.2 blocked shots per game … also led the MIAA in field goal percentage at .673 hitting 179 of 266 setting a Washburn single season record … he finished third in the final NCAA field goal percentage rankings as well as in the top 10 in blocked shots per game (5th), rebounds per game (8th), total blocks (4th) and total rebounds (6th) … broke is own single season blocks record with 97 and block average with 3.2 … offensively he averaged 14.2 points per game which led the Ichabods becoming the eighth Ichabod to average a double double and the first Ichabod to accomplish it twice … recorded 15 double doubles on the season and had a career high 28 points against Emporia state going 12 of 17 from the field … finished eighth in the MIAA in assists at 3.2 per game … academically, he was named a Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-American® and a first team Academic All-District as well as to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and the MIAA Scholar Athlete listing … following his junior season, he was selected for an NCAA Division II all-star team traveling to Brazil.

As a sophomore in 2015-16
Became the first Ichabod to be named MIAA Defensive Player of the Year adding honorable mention all-MIAA honors after leading the MIAA in rebounds at 10.2 per game, which was 13th in the nation… averaged a double double for the season adding 10.4 points per game becoming the seventh Ichabod to average a double double for the season … had a Lee Arena record 22 rebounds against Missouri Southern adding 22 points in the game for the first 20/20 game in school history … his 61 blocks was a single-season Ichabod record and ranked 22nd in the nation … recorded 10 double doubles … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and the MIAA Scholar Athlete Honor Roll.

As a freshman in 2014-15
Appeared in 13 games making four starts scoring 34 points … had 14 points on 5 of 5 shooting against Tabor … hit 12 of 19 shots from the field … had a season-high four blocks against Central Oklahoma recording 12 overall … missed the final nine games of the season with an injury … a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.

Background
Named first team all-Sunflower league as a senior as well as first team all-state class 6A and second team all-state, all-class after averaging 19.8 points per game … as a junior he averaged 12 points and eight rebounds a game earning all-league honorable mention accolades … in the classroom he was a 4.0 Presidential Scholar.

Personal
Son of Allen and Joy Skeens … double major in Bachelor of Business Administration, Dual Major in Management and Finance and he has three minors now in computer science information, economics and leadership studies … his mom played both basketball and softball at Washburn and finished her career as the Lady Blues’ all-time leading scorer and rebounder and was inducted into the Washburn Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
