Background: A 2013 graduate of Blue Valley West High School where she earned three letters in volleyball, sitting out her junior year with an ACL injury … earned 6A All-State and All-Eastern Kansas League honors her senior year … averaged 10.6 assists a set her senior year to lead the EKL … was a two-time AVCA/MaxPreps Player of the Week  …  holds the school record for serve percentage … her sophomore year she earned all-league in basketball and also played soccer … was a EKL scholar athlete her first two years and her volleyball team was state runner-up her freshman year.

Personal: Daughter of Karen and Gary Bates … is a double major in finance and entrepreneurship and innovation  … her father, Gary, is a Baker University athletics hall of fame member as he played basketball and baseball there.
