Background: A transfer from West Texas A&M where he finished 14th at the national outdoor track and field championships as a junior in the long jump and placed ninth in the triple jump and fourth in the long jump at the Lone Star Outdoor championships … finished third in the conference indoor meet in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump as a junior … a USTFCCCA all-region pick as a junior … as a sophomore he his first All-America award with a seventh-place finish in long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championship …finished the indoor season with a third place showing in long jump and seventh place finish in triple jump … he was named USTFCCCA All-Region in long jump during indoor and outdoor … qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championship and placed 11th in the country at the meet after placing second at the LSC Outdoor Championship … broke the school's outdoor long jump record at the WT Classic with a leap of 7.43m … during 2014, Alongo totalled 10 top-eight finishes and won the long jump competition at three different meets … as a freshman he placed in the top-five in every indoor competition through the LSC Indoor Championships, where he won the long jump event and placed third in triple jump … placed first in his first collegiate event (long jump) … qualified for the NCAA Indoor National Championships where he placed 15th in the long jump … in high school he graduated from Baudimont St. Charles in Arras, France in 2006 … competed in the long jump, triple jump and 100m … holds the school's long jump record at 23'6" ¬ four-time national champion in 2005 and 2006 (indoor and outdoor).
