At Washburn: Has competed in nine events as an Ichabod … has the seventh-fastest individual performance in the 400m in a time of 51.13 in program history… a 11-time member MIAA Academic Honor Roll and MIAA Academic Excellence listing.

In 2022-23: Competed in the season-opening Washburn Alumni Invitational finishing third in the 400m in a personal-best time of 51.13 before missing the rest of the indoor and outdoor slates with an injury … named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and was an MIAA Academic Excellence award winner.

In 2021-22: Sat out the indoor and outdoor seasons … named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and was an MIAA Academic Excellence award winner.

In 2020-21: Sat out during the outdoor season … finished ninth in the 60m hurdles at the MIAA Indoor Championships in a PR time of 8.43 … set a career-best mark in the 400 at the WU All-Kansas Invite in a time of 51.60 … named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and was an MIAA Academic Excellence award winner.

In 2019-20: Finished third in the 60m hurdles at the Tjeerdsma Classic in a time of 8.60 setting a personal best and also had a personal best time in the 400m in a time of 52.15 … finished sixth in the 60m hurdles at the K-State Miller Open and was ninth as part of the 4x400m relay at the MIAA Indoor Championships … outdoor season was canceled due to COVID 19 outbreak ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and was an MIAA Academic Excellence award winner.

Background: Finished second at the state track and field meet in the 110m and third in the 300m as a senior … also named first team all-league and running back and at defensive end as a senior … finished fifth in the 100m hurdles and fourth in the 300m hurdles at the state meet as a junior … earned all-state honorable mention honors in football and first team all-league honors … finished sixth in the 110m hurdles at the state meet as a sophomore … owns school records in the 110m and 300m hurdles … part of back to back 3A state championship football teams.

Personal: Son of Jerry and Alanna Engelken … two brothers, Simon and Finn … majoring in kinesiology.
