In 2020-21 (cross country): Earned a season-high 69th place with a time of 27:56.9 in the 8K at the Newman Teams Championships… had a 37:42.88 running time and placed 85th in the 10K at the DII National Invitational … (track) had best times of the season in the 800m and the 1500m at the MIAA Outdoor Championships with times of 1:58.66 and 4:06.10 respectively … had a career-best in the mile at the MIAA Indoor Championships at Washburn in a time of 4:27.18.

In 2019-20 (cross country): Had a season-best 31st-place finish in a time of 26:34.90 on an 7K course … finished 86th at the MIAA Championships in a time of 28:21.30 … (track) during the indoor season helped DMR team earn a point at the MIAA Indoor Championships with an eighth-place finish … had a season best in the mile at the Gorilla Classic in a time of 4:28.33 … outdoor season was canceled due to COVID19 ... named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and was an MIAA Academic Excellence award winner.

Background: Was the league champion in the 1600m and the 800m and was a state qualifier in cross country and finished seventh at the state meet as a senior … as junior he finished sixth in the 1600m run at the state meet was finished eighth in the 800m run … during his sophomore year he finished eighth at the state meet in the 800m run … cross country team qualified for state three times.

Personal: Son of Jed and Jenny Ecord … has a sister Zoie … his father long jumped at Pittsburg State … majoring in mathematics.
