Dean Ferrell played football at Washburn from 1965-68 and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame as a meritorious service honoree in 2005-06.
After graduating Ferrell continued to support Washburn Athletics behind the scenes.
The former Ichabod quarterback let the team when he passed for 732 yards in 1967 and 793 yards in 1968. He also led the team in total offense in both 1967 and 1968 with 904 and 909 yards, respectively.
Ferrell left Washburn as the No. 2 all-time total offense leader.
