Background: The top starter in the Beavers’ pitching rotation as a sophomore in 2014 at Pratt Community College (Pratt, Kan.) ... went 5-5 with a 6.70 ERA ... had 25 strikeouts and just four walks in 41 2/3 innings … sat out the 2013 season at PCC and took a medical redshirt … as a freshman in 2012, was the No. 2 starter in the pitching rotation and helped his team win the NJCAA regional championship … a 2011 graduate of Edmond Memorial High School (Edmond, Okla.) where he was a four-year pitcher for the Bulldogs and started his final three years.
